It is a nice little set up to watch movies on, but I wouldn’t ever use it as a primary monitor.
iAlertU – Mac App
![]()
Want to protect you Mac from burglars? iAlertU is a Mac Application that allows you to do just that. This very unique app is a car alarm for your Mac. what it does is lock your computer and when someone try’s to take it or use it a very load and annoying car alarm type noise will go off. The app doesn’t work form your dock but from the menu bar on the top of your screen.

From here you can access different option but the two you will probably use the most are the “Preferences” and the “Arm System” buttons. In the preference windows are many diffrent customization options. Besides that there are two ways to activate the system. The first and most basic is just like a car alarm using your Apple remote. All you do is hold down the Menu button on your Apple Remote and it is locked. To unlock the system you just hold down the Menu button again. The second way is by using Arm System button on the menu. To unlock it with that option you just type in a password that you have set.
Now onto the different menu options. You can access these by pressing the Preferences button on the menu.

. In this window you see that you get an alarm status, alarm duration, motion sensitivity*, and triggers.
The alarm status just gives you the last time the alarm went off. How it went off. And the total number of activations.
The alarm duration is how long the alarm runs for. The motion sensitivity is how sensitive the alarm is to motion when picking up a the computer.*
The triggers are the different ways the alarm is triggered. You have motion sensor*, keyboard, screen close*, trackpad/mouse, AC adapter*, Devices.
*Only for Macbooks, MacbookPro’s, and MacbookAir’s.
In this window you have the camera options.
The camera allows you to have a picture taken with your i-Sight camera when the alarm goes off.
You also have the option of having the picture emailed to you.
This window gives you the option to change your password and toggle a few settings.
Here you can edit your password or choose if you are going to use your Apple remote.
In these options you can choose to use there logo for when your computer is armed or use your own desktop picture. Check for updates at start-up and have the option for it to always force the maximum volume level.
So thats the Mac app iAlertU. You can download it here. Thanks for reading.
