“Yeah, it’s something that we’re looking at,” said Microsoft’s Mike Tedesco, who is the Senior Product Manager for WindowsBU. “Obviously the announcement (of the iPad) is really fresh and there’s nothing to announce or nothing that I can talk to you about today. We’ve had tablet technology forever and both Windows 7 and Windows Vista automatically detect that and you can be running your Office on there.”
According to the gadget website T3, Microsoft Senior Product Manager Mike Tedesco recently let it be known that the Seattle based company is currently toying with the possibility of creating a version of their Office suite for Apple’s iPad.
Apple has released to developers the iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 2 for iPad. The 3.2 SDK was first released in January so developers could begin adapting their iPhone applications for the iPad.
The SDK supports the 1024×768 screen size of the iPad amongst other new interface features. Early word on the new SDK shows few major differences between the first and second betas though additional details may leak out over the next few days.

Opera Software today announced that it will preview an iPhone version of its Opera Mini mobile browser at next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
“We have not submitted it yet to the Apple App Store. However, we hope that Apple will not deny their users a choice in Web browsing experience,” said Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder of Opera.
Opera’s compression technology is also claimed to allow six times faster downloads and ten times smaller data traffic than Apple’s Safari for iPhone.

A “75 percent probability” exists that AT&T will hold onto the American iPhone during 2010, claims Credit Suisse analyst Jonathan Chaplin. There is a high chance that AT&T will bid and win a one-year contract extension. Rumors of a Verizon iPhone have accelerated in recent weeks, but have mostly been tied to a January 27th event which turned out to be the iPad debut, and didn’t shed any light on the iPhone.
Only AT&T would gain anything from continued exclusivity, says Chaplin. The iPhone already accounts for 66 percent of AT&T smartphones, meaning there is little room for expansion.
A Verizon iPhone is nevertheless expected in 2011. Other analysts have commented that both AT&T and Verizon phones could gain LTE (4G) support at the same time.

Even though the iPad was only announced just last week, a Chinese Tablet manufacturer has already implemented a lawsuit against Apple claiming that the iPad has ripped off it’s tablet design. The P88, which has been available in China for the last six months, carries a 10.2 inch screen, a 250GB hard drive, a 1.3 megapixel camera, an Ethernet port and an Intel 945GSE Processor. It does not support multi-touch, however.
As you maybe able to see from the picture, the tablet looks like a giant iPhone. When questioned whether the P88 has taken it’s design from the iPhone, Shenzhen Great Loong Brother’s President, Xiaolong Wu replied: “They have nothing to do with it, as they have completely different functions.” Right. So, a company steals the iPhone design and scales it up, but then sues Apple claiming the design as their own. Sounds legit!
I don’t see this lawsuit standing up for much longer.

Google has updated the mobile web version of Voice, their very own television service. Users can make cheap long-distance calls, and have other phones linked to a single Google Voice number. iPhone owners can now place calls from within Safari, where they can also check voicemail. One limitation is that unlike some other phones, the iPhone must use Google Contacts info instead of a native address book, which is a big downside due to Apple’s limitations.
The iPhone code is in fact designed to resemble a native app, to the point of using custom icons when saving bookmarks to the Home screen. People on the other end of a call see a Google number, not an iPhone’s usual one.
